Vision
For about 15 years, our department carried out educational activities within the Faculty of Agriculture at Süleyman Demirel University, following the traditional agricultural education model. In 2018, Isparta University of Applied Sciences was established, and the Faculty of Agriculture was affiliated with this new university. As interest in traditional agricultural education has declined nationwide, a structural transformation was initiated as part of the new university and faculty. Within this framework, the Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition adopted an approach that goes beyond traditional agricultural education, aligning with the university’s vision by focusing on practice-oriented training, interaction with the agricultural sector, and the integration of technology into agricultural applications. This transformation is considered an opportunity for the department in agricultural education. Furthermore, producing knowledge, solving problems in soil science and plant nutrition, ensuring that students become exemplary and sought-after professionals, and conducting scientific studies in line with the needs of our country are among the visions of our department.
Mission
The Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition is committed to training students equipped with contemporary knowledge and experience, who possess the ability to identify and solve problems, and who love their country and nation. The mission is to ensure the protection and sustainable use of natural resources and the environment, to increase plant production, and to address productivity challenges. The department aims to provide solutions to local, national, and international issues in accordance with modern and global standards, and to generate, apply, and disseminate knowledge to achieve these solutions.
