GENERAL INFORMATION

Department focused on the breeding, reproduction and nutrition of livestocks, and preparation of feeds and fodders .The divisions in the department are 1-animal husbandry and breeding, 2-livestock nutrition and feeding and 3-biometry and genetics. Raising and breeding animals such as goats, sheeps, cattle and domestic fowls, nutrition of these animals, investigating alternative feed stuffs, experimental design and bioinformatic research are main research areas of the department. Department has two poultry houses, one beef and one dairy farms. In addition, department has analytical laboratories and facilities to prepare and analyze feed stuffs for basic and applied research.

 

Qualification Awarded : Specialist of Animal Science with a strong backgorund on Agricultural Engineering.  
Level of Qualification : First Cycle (Bachelor?s Degree).Students at the beginning of each semester, and within the period specified in the academic calendar, with the decision of the Council of Ministers designated by paying the student contribution or tuition fee are required to renew their registration.

Specific Admission Requirements : The student who has been granted by T.C. Higher Education Council Student Selection and Placement Center by a nation-wide examination can apply for admission to the faculty department. The students who fails to follow the admission procedure are declained from the right of being a student of the university, whereas the students who follow up the admission procedure are considered as registreted students and receive an identity card.  
Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (formal, non-formal and informal) : Isparta University of Applied Sciences, affiliated to other institutions of higher volumes of transfer, dated 21.10.1982 published in Official Gazette No. 17845th "Higher Education Institutions Undergraduate Transfer Between Associate and Principles Concerning the Regulation" is made according to the provisions. Qualification Requirements and Regulations : National qualifications frameworks may contain levels (or intermediate qualifications) within the three Bologna cycles (e.g. a short cycle within the first cycle). Qualification Requirements and Regulations are enacted by YÖK (The Council Of Higher Education) in Turkey.  
Profile of The Programme : The department aims to contribute to animal production in Turkey and in the world by graduating animal scientists and researchers who have necessary knowledge to take these tasks  
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples : Animal science graduates can work in below places: ministry of agriculture, forestry and rural affairs, farms belongs to this ministry, research centers belongs to this ministry, private farms, miz feed producers and feed analyses laboratories, cattle breeders association, sheeep and goat breeders association, agricultural products cooperatives and associations, Agricultural credit cooperatives, State planning agency, state statistical institute, national productivity center, export developing center, commerce chambers, comemerce stock, industry chambers, exporter associations, agricultural pesticides, fertilizer, feed producing and selling firms, agricultural products exporting firms, or they can establish their own business.  
Access to Further Studies : Enrolled in undergraduate programs, which provide the necessary conditions for students who, in addition to its undergraduate program for certification are given an opportunity to monitor the Minor Program. Minor Program does not imply a separate degree program. Also, in terms of issues that are close to their undergraduate program with another degree program by executing a second bachelor's degree to receive the Double Major program can sign up. Minor and Double Major set by the University Senate shall be regulated according to instructions.  
Aims Of Programme : This program; Animal Breeding and Breeding, Feeds and Animal Nutrition, Biometry and Genetics with the subjects of the basic branches of science and engineering fields by taking advantage of all livestock-producing knowledge and technology, skilled and equipped to train people is intended.  
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : Students are subject to the final exam at the end of each semester and/or at the end of the academic year in addition to an exam during the midd-semester and/or midd-year. Each course should at least have a midd-semester examination. Final exams are performed under the supervision of the Dean's Administration at the specified locations and fixed dates within the faculty. Faculty Boards is in-charge-of taking decision to allow the internship trainings and student practical laboratory and field tests. 

In order to enter the final exam in a semester/year of a course ;

a) Registration to be renewed,
b) The attendance to a theoretical course at least 70%,
c) The attendance to laboratory practice at least 80% ,
d) Have already taken the midd-semester exam.

Lectures and laboratory was evaluated separately for the above is true success laboratory conditions.

A course grade is found by using the relative evaluation method. According to the method of relative evaluation of a student in a course grade to determine, first absolute evaluation method as in the mid-term and any other educational activities with the semester / year-end exams taking into account the contribution of the note is calculated as crude. In this note, the evaluation methods are considered to be over 100 raw notes. For all students, over 100 raw notes, the overall success of the class level, not the distribution, class average and standard deviation, taking into account adopted by the Senate letter, or 4 system is adapted to the system.
This midterm evaluation and / or other work in lieu of midterm exams are contributing to the achievement of 40%, or year-end final exams are contributing to the achievement of the notes taken from the 60% is.
Students who have at least 2.00 for any CGA of course (FF), (FD), (NA) or (K) is not successful with the condition are counted. CGA 2.00 is below the grades will be counted.
Students who are unsuccessful, consultants and heads of departments with the approval of the proposal (DC) and (DD) grade may repeat the courses they take
 
Graduation Requirements : Faculties / departments in our routine education period is 4 years. If the student can not graduate in a 4 year period of time, the "2547" law article 44 allows these students to complete their studies in seven years . However, the law still allows for those who can not graduate at the end of these periods to take two additional exams for any failed cources. After all these rights are used up if any student still fails the law allows for those having 5 courses failed to take-up three semester, for those having 5 courses failed but not having any additinal exams to take up 4 semester and for those having only 3 courses failed to take-up unlimited period of time to complete the whole circiculum. Followed by a student graduated from the program to become legal within the period mentioned above all the courses required for graduation to receive and to be successful in this course provided that the program continues at least 2.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) and are required to complete. GPA is also grades.
Normally at the end of their period of study with at least normal course load for graduate students with grade point average of 3.00-3.49 which students "Achievement Certificate", the students who are between 3.50-4.00 the "Outstanding Achievement Certificate" are entitled to receive
